Remembering a Biker

Deacon Norm conducted a memorial service for a recently deceased biker at St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church. He emphasized that we all have shadows (those parts of us of which we are ashamed), and so we wear masks. Many of us have shadows that are quite visible; for example alcoholism and some ¬†addictions, but often we find that beneath the mask lies a warm and caring heart. Such was the case with this biker who wore a “tough-guy mask, but had a soft heart. St. Benedict’s and Deacon Norm are pleased to offer such services to those who seek these consolations.

  1. Yes, we often don’t show or demonstrate what is troubling us. Therefore, some of wear beautiful and/or holy masks. Our goal is to follow Jesus. Sometimes I wonder if some of our religious houses wear masks as well.
