It’s so easy to become frustrated especially in these days of Covid 19: “I can’t go out!” I’ve lost my job!” “I can’t even attend church!” However, we’re in good company, for Jesus suffered even worse as Jesus complains of in today’s gospel. He cries out,” John came fasting and contrite;” “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you reject both.” Jesus lived in commitment to goodness and peace, and they still murdered him. His whole life seemed an exercise in frustration.Still, Jesus maintained his trust that God would love him through frustration and even death. To follow in his sandals whether of pain or joy remains such a privilege! Whatever our frustrations, we can live his life trusting in our sublime intimacy with our Lord.
