OUR JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME!

Have you journeyed on vacation, business, or moving your home? Of course! Today’s gospel speaks of 2 disciples enroute to Emmaus, a nearby village. Actually, their journey and ours are far more more arduous and lengthy. It’s the journey of a lifetime: from unknown to understanding, blindness to vision, sadness to joy, from┬ádeath to life.

Yes, these 2 acknowledge that Jesus has overcome death by living through death. Their paths are truth via God’s word and community via Eucharist. We tred the same path: a life-long search for wisdom and love whom we know as Christ. We stumble and lose our way, but we must never give up searching along┬áthe way, for Emmaus is not our destination but the journey itself.

  2. mary just reminded me that we have god in each other and that is our eucharist with the father now….christ is with us in each other ….we share gods presence with each other….theologically i could probably say this better…..schillebecx (sp?) iam sure could say these thoughts in a more coherent and theologically sound way however you don’t have him around to voice these pious ideas anymore!!! thank you norm for always being there when we have need for some direction in life. love mary and joe esser
